Splitpal helps groups split expenses. This page explains, in plain words, what we store and why.

What we store

  • If you organize events: your name and email address from signing in (with Google or an email link). If you sign in with Google, we also get your profile picture.
  • What goes into an event: the event name, the names of the people in it, the expenses and items, the amounts, and who picked what.
  • If a friend sent you a link: you don't need an account. Your browser remembers which name you picked in that event, so you don't have to pick it again. That stays on your device.
  • Basic server logs (like IP addresses and pages requested), kept for a short time to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

Only to run Splitpal: to show your events, work out who owes what, and keep everyone's screen up to date. We don't show ads, we don't sell your information, and we don't use tracking or analytics tools.

Who can see an event

Anyone who has an event's link can open it and see everything in it, including people's names and amounts. Only share the link with your group.

Services we use

Splitpal runs on a few trusted services, which store or process data for us:

  • Clerk, for signing in
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google
  • Vercel, which hosts the website
  • Amazon Web Services, which runs our server
  • Supabase, which hosts our database

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep organizers signed in.

Deleting your data

Organizers can delete any event from their events page at any time, and it's gone for good. To delete your account and everything in it, email syedaaryanhakim@gmail.com.

Questions or changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Questions? Email syedaaryanhakim@gmail.com.
